After playing in various bands throughout the years, LunchBox, with it’s current line up, formed in November of 2008. Soon after, we began playing shows in various venues throughout Cincinnati.
We all come from different and diverse musical backgrounds so we have a wide variety of influences. Our style varies from song to song but would all be considered rock with influences from funk, blues, jazz, and reggae, along with some heavier influence. We’ve been compared to bands such as Red Hot
We’ve been compared to bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime, and Incubus. Our music has been described as party rock and our shows always have a party feel to them. We’re high energy and cover a wide range of styles and can also play covers.(see attached song list)
Over the last couple years of being a band we’ve been able to establish a strong following and are known for bringing a high energy crowd to our shows. Some of the venues around the Cincinnati area that we’ve played at include; Mainstay Rock Bar, Jack Pott’s Tavern, Southgate House, Madison Theater, The Mad Frog, Harvey’s Blue Note, and many more. We’ve also played at events such as Westside Rockfest, U.C.’s Relay for Life, and Motoxtreme’s Open House.
We have recorded an EP consisting of seven original tracks. We’ve distributed over a thousand copies of our first EP and our currently working on our first full length album.
