This year Arnold’s has teamed up with Maker’s Mark, Neltner Small Batch Records, and Maria Carrelli for one of the coolest things Arnold’s has ever done.

If you blinked you missed it! On October 16th the Woman’s Groovement Volume 1 Vinyl Album Release Party descended upon The Southgate House Revival with a full house of all star regional female performers.

Lisa Sullivan and I met up so she could drop my copy of The Women’s Groovement: Volume One, into my hands. A record comprised of various women artists, singing some original tunes plus one cover, and all to benefit The ION Center for Violence Prevention.

On Sunday, October 16th at The Southgate House Revival, The Women's Groovement are celebrating the release of their album, Volume One! An album comprised of some of the best female talent from across the entire region.

The third installment of the Cripple Creek Music Festival will be headlined by Vermont jamband Twiddle, with a diverse musical slate throughout the one day event on October 2nd, 2021.

March is Women’s History Month and CincyMusic is honoring local women in music. We chatted with singer/songwriter Maria Carrelli over Zoom to catch up on life during quarantine and what 2021 has in store.

Asheville, NC based Folk/Americana duo Golden Shoals (formerly Hoot and Holler) is starting out 2020 by bringing their soulful, yet polished combination of fiddle, banjo, guitar, and harmony singing to Cincinnati under a fresh moniker.

In the year that is set up to be over in a couple weeks, 2019, music saw a lot of great albums come out. So I will preface this by saying that I’m sure there are a few that I missed but really liked as well. The list below isn’t a top ten, I am not a fan of those, I think they are boring and overplayed. The list below is simply a compilation, if you will, of albums that I enjoyed from this year that has seemingly flown by. 

Maria Carrelli’s sense of humor and unabashed honesty are apparent in these opening lines from her song “Strings On My Guitar”, the title-track of a 10-track project releasing independently on April 12^th. Hailing from Ludlow, Kentucky, Carelli draws strongly from Appalachian bluegrass and traditional country music, transitioning between upbeat tempos and melody-driven ballads on her debut solo record. 

"I love people. I have never met a stranger. I appreciate learning about people, helping people when I can and belonging to a community. I enjoy making people laugh, especially catching them off guard with a laugh, having a candid moment. I think that's why the photography plays a big part of who I am."

Jam on the Creek takes place in beautiful Camp Springs, KY this Saturday! A celebration of live music, 50 West Brewery (Tap Takeover), and Little Rock Farm's grass-fed burgers, it is an event not to miss.
