Night Owl

Rob Mohan is a Cincinnati-based musician who has been performing across different genres for well over a decade. His latest project, Night Owl was first developed while living in San Francisco as a means to release his acoustic songs. Two albums later and relocating to Cincinnati, he continues to play under the Night Owl moniker delivering songs full of open tunings and introspective lyrics often drawing from the landscapes of his Mid-West and West Coast experiences.

That these songs on their own are like novellas. Short stories of the Queen City, and Northern Kentucky areas, but with something deeper lying beneath that surface. Through the eight tracks there was something that felt a little haunting as well.

REVIEW: The Great Beyond by Night Owl

A person’s interpretation of a song’s lyrics is, and can be, unique to them. Being that I’m not the one who wrote the song either I come from feel. Lyrically I dig this song. It seemingly comes from a place of some darkness, and I appreciate that.
