Cincinnati Chamber Opera, hailed as "one of Cincinnati's brightest musical start-ups" (Mary Ellyn Hutton, Music in Cincinnati) and a "fine company…with big ambitions and good taste!" (Rafael de Acha, Seen and Heard International) closes its second season with Claudio Monteverdi’s late Renaissance/early Baroque opera L’Orfeo. The work will be presented Valentine’s Day weekend of 2014 at Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Cincinnati, in collaboration with the second annual Cincinnati Early Music Festival (for more information on the festival, visit catacoustic.com/festival/). L’Orfeo will feature 10 principal artists from the Cincinnati area, accompanied by a chamber ensemble of instruments, led by Elliot Smith on organ and harpsichord.
