It should come as no surprise that Athens, Ohio’s The Ridges are returning to the Queen City for 2014’s MidPoint Music Festival. What has become their home away from home (and may actually be more of a home at this point than Athens is) will welcome them alongside Gardens & Villa, Saintseneca, and Mutual Benefit at Memorial Hall.
Fresh off of their set of dates with Kishi Bashi both abroad and in town, The Ridges plan to bring their eclectic, emotive, often haunting brand of Indie Folk to bear on Saturday night’s MPMF crowd. Never one to miss the chance to blow kisses to a city that continues to treat his band so well, leader Vic Rasgaitis says of MPMF, “The atmosphere is perfectly inspiring and the crowds are so incredibly receptive — we're lucky to have such an awesome festival here in Ohio.” We couldn’t agree more.
No matter where you end up while roaming the busy, loud streets of this year’s MidPoint Music Festival, you’re bound to find something appealing, enjoyable, or memorable. We think showing up at Memorial Hall to catch The Ridges and company basically guarantees all three.
