The first time I saw the iconic Morrissey, I was spellbound. His stage presence is one I have never experienced before. He commands you to listen. His beauty and theatrics whipped the audience into shape for that evening. “You are all wretched,” he told us over and over again as we just nodded and agreed.
The iconic artist Morrissey will perform at the Aronoff Center on Tuesday, June 30th at 8:30pm. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, April 10 at 10:00am. Tickets will be available at the Aronoff Center Box Office, online at cincinnatiarts.org, or by calling 513-621-ARTS.
The minimalist video for the single, “Kiss Me a Lot” debuted yesterday via the artist’s True To You zine. Check out the video HERE.
Considered by many to be one of the most influential artists of all time, Morrissey has been heralded for both his song writing abilities and singing. Breaking into the mainstream as the lead singer of The Smiths, Morrissey quickly established himself as one of the more influential voices in the alternative music scene of the 1980's. While only releasing four albums, The Smiths saw commercial success in the UK while the band was still together but developed a cult following worldwide after breaking up in 1987. The Smiths were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
Nearly eight months after the breakup of The Smiths, Morrissey released his first solo album Viva Hate which registered at number one in the UK. Morrissey has since released eleven additional solo albums including 2014's World Peace Is None Of Your Business.
