Beverly is a recording project that began between Drew Citron and Frankie Rose, two California natives who met in New York. Rose released several celebrated solo records after departing seminal NYC dreampop outfit Vivian Girls, and Citron toured as a member of her band as well as Pains of Being Pure at Heart.
In 2014 the two bashed out a stripped down record, Careers that sounds like a 60’s girl group with distorted guitars, engineered in part by Jonny Schenke (Parquet Courts). Their critically acclaimed debut Careers came out last summer on Kanine Records; it combines raw pop, post-punk, and dreamy harmonies, drawing inspiration from lo-fi greats such as The Amps and The Clean.
Beverly will be at MOTR Pub this Thursday with Black Planet. 10p Show!
