Shark Week will be playing Friday, August 7th for the Midpoint Indie Summer series with Tweens, Leggy and Smut!
The latest album by Shark Week, Beach Fuzz seamlessly blends tight punk numbers, surf rock, brooding western lullabies and sprawling, freaked-out, psychedelic jams, with wry wit, reverb-drenched chorus backgrounds and percussive rhythms. The band keeps one foot in the past, tipping a cap to The New York Dolls, Dick Dale, The Velvet Underground and Ennio Morricone, with an eye on to the future. Lead singer, Mitchell delivers nervy, Richard-Hellish vocals over Alberto Pacheco's jangly, glam-rock-inspired electric licks, while Danielle Vu's pulsating bass lines and Dan Newhauser's loose, pounding drums anchoring the group.
