Moon Taxi is no stranger to the stage. The band spent the summer months in front of massive crowds at Governor’s Ball, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and both weekends of Austin City Limits festival. In Cincinnati, Moon Taxi is excited to perform their new album, Daybreaker, live as well as play crowd favorites from their past albums.
We sat down with Wes Bailey of Moon Taxi prior to the show at The Taft Theatre this Sunday!
Tell about the new album, Daybreaker…
We all believe that our new album Daybreaker is the best representation of where we are right now personally and as a band. Expect to hear a lot of these songs live at upcoming shows.
What can one expect at a live Moon Taxi show?
At Moon Taxi shows, expect a lot of volume, energy and crowd sing-alongs. Also expect air guitar and air drumming. We also sweat a lot.
Tell us about your song writing process…
Every song is different but for the past album it was mostly Spencer and myself collaborating, knocking out most of the song then working on the rest with the full group. This seems to work in a nice, democratic way.
What is next for Moon Taxi?
We will finish out 2015 playing handful of shows and preparing for our big New Year's eve concert. We're hoping to make this the biggest and best yet.
