Evgeny Kissin makes CSO Debut on Mother’s Day

Pianist Evgeny Kissin to perform Rachmaninoff with The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in rare U.S. appearance. Considered one of the most gifted pianists of his generation (and of previous generations in line with the likes of Vladimir Horowitz), Mr. Kissin began his career as a child prodigy and is in high demand with the top conductors and orchestras around the world. While he performs regularly with some of the world’s most revered artists and ensembles, this is a rare Midwest appearance for Mr. Kissin. In fact, this is one of only two U.S. performances planned prior to 2018! During this one-night-only concert with Music Director Louis Langrée, Mr. Kissin will perform Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto. Also on this sure-to-sell-out program is Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

The Grammy-winning pianist Evgeny Kissin makes his CSO debut on Sunday, May 8, 2016. Mr. Kissin has recorded with such conductors and ensembles as the Berlin Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Claudio Abbado, Valery Gergiev and James Levine. “Without question, he is a phenomenal pianist, a deeply intuitive and sensitive musician,” hailed The New York Times. He recently gained attention for his performance at the Kennedy Center of works by 20th century Russian Jewish composers which he played along with a Yiddish poetry reading. Mr. Kissin’s deeply humble approach to music-making, intimate interpretations and technical virtuosity make him a worldwide star and a thrilling addition to the CSO’s season.

Tickets for this one-night-only special appearance start at just $12 (a perfect Mother’s Day gift!) and are available by calling the CSO Box Office at 513.381.3300 or visiting HERE. Promo code MOTHER gets you 25% off this show!
