Louisville’s psych-pop band Frederick The Younger is headed to MOTR Pub on Thursday, March 2nd! The band is touring in support of their debut album Human Child produced by veteran sonic wizard Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket, Andrew Bird, Twin Limb, Houndmouth).
We sat down with lead singer, Jenni Cochran prior to the show at MOTR!
How did you get hooked up with Kevin Ratterman?
Aaron and I recorded with Kevin for the first time in 2012 when he recorded Dr Vitamin (the band Aaron and I played in together before we started Frederick The Younger). He's been a close friend of ours ever since. He is a genius with sounds and textures and added a lot to the album. He's also an amazing drummer. He played drums on two songs on our album, "LP" and "Leaves Are Gone."
Tell us about life on the road thus far...
It's amazing! We just want to play shows all the time, everywhere, for everyone.
What can Cincinnati expect at a live show?
Lots of energy. Aaron rolling around on the floor at some point. Dave kicking ass on the drums. And a soft song or two.
What is next for Frederick The Younger’s?
Touring, making music videos and writing our next record. We can't wait to get back in the studio.
