Eric Church is heading to Cincinnati on April 22nd as part of his Holdin’ My Own Tour which hits cities from Wichita to Buffalo and beyond.
Church promises to deliver something on this tour that he hasn’t done previously (and has very rarely been done by a country singer to date): three hours of music, his music. Church is heading on this tour without an opening act, allowing for a monster show with some of his greatest hits from Sinners Like Me (2006) to Mr. Misunderstood (2015).
Following two other albums, Eric Church made it big with his 2012 album Chief, which landed him his first No. 1 single (“Drink In My Hand”), first Top 20 single on the Billboard Top 100 (“Springsteen”), and No. 1 album on both the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums. Following his success with Chief, his album The Outsiders was released (also with the EMI Records Nashville label) and reached great success.
His latest album, Mr. Misunderstood, was released in November 2015 as a surprise album that features 10 self-written and co-written tracks with themes of lessons and loyalty. The album received Album of the Year at the 2016 CMA Awards after being released during the 2015 CMA Awards. Church leans toward a country rock/southern rock style that is heralded as one of the most unique sounds in Nashville.
The Holdin’ My Own Tour was announced in 2016 and will hit more than 60 cities across North America from January (Lincoln, Nebraska, as the opener) to May (two nights in Nashville). Eric and the Eric Church Band will play two full sets of his music with an intermission between as opposed to having one or two opening acts like previous tours.
