Root Cellar Xtract Announce Album and Release Party

Root Cellar Xtract (RCx) announces the release of their first full length album Rear View Mirror Eyes.  They will kick things off with a record release show on May 20th at Arnolds!

Root Cellar Xtract (RCx) came to be in early 2016.  The band is a composite of local stand out musicians for the "roots"space. With multiple CCM grads and two former winners of the former 97x/WOXY Local Band contest plus multiple CEA nominations, RCx represents the tightly woven musical fabric of Cincinnati at its most musical point.

The album is produced by Brian Lovely of The Flying Underground and The Faux Frenchman and formerly of Brian Lovely and the Secret.  It's also produced by Jim Pelz formerly of Hickory Robot.

Fueled by the songwriting of Clyde Bailey, the consummate musicians of Root Cellar Xtract (RCx) play a kind of throw-back country rock which embodies the rootsy soulfulness of Buffalo Springfield and Poco. Root Cellar Xtract’s (RCx) music and sound is deeply rooted in the earliest origins of true Country-Rock. Root Cellar Xtract harkens back to the era of the mid 60’s to early 70’s and hills of Laurel Canyon, California which was the birthplace of Country Rock. With names like Neil Young, David Crosby, Stephen Stills Graham Nash, J.D. Sourther, Rich Furay, Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Jackson Brown, Joni Mitchel, and Gram Parsons that bounced across multiple bands like The Band, Buffalo Springfield, Little Feat, Poco, Flying Burrito Brothers, The Eagles, Pure Prairie League, and The Byrds. Not unlike the founding members and bands of Country Rock, the members of Root Cellar Xtract have played in multiple bands from this musical space not only in Cincinnati but also across the country and Europe.

One of the founding father-bands of original country rock hails from Cincinnati, Pure Prairie League.  Root Cellar Xtract (RCx) has been playing out all over Cincinnati over the past year and is working hard to put the city back on the map for this original throwback country rock sound.  Pure Prairie got their start back at the New Dilly in Mt Adams back in the early 70's.
