Yung Gravy brought the heat last night to a sold-out show at Bogart’s. Cheered on by wall-to-wall fans, the Minnesota artist rapped new and old hits, including several track off his latest Sensational album.
The show kicked off around 9:30 with opener SavageRealm. The Houston-bred rapper performed chuckle-worthy hits like “Aggressive Masturbation” and “I Pee on the Toilet Seat,” as well as a Hurricane Harvey diss track, “F**k Hurricane Harvey.”
Gravy sauntered on stage, met by screaming fans, around 10. Right out the gate, he performed Sensational cuts “Gravy For Pope,” “The Boys Are Back In Town,” “Whip A Tesla,” “E.T.,” and “Alley Oop.”
“Y’all are really live, I see you Cincinnati!” he told the packed Tuesday night crowd.
Gravy’s Sensational LP, his debut album, dropped earlier this year. The 13-track record included features from Lil Baby on “Alley Oop,” LIL MAYO on “E.T.,” bbno$ in “Whip A Tesla,” Pouya, Ramirez, and TrippyThaKid on “The Boys Are Back In Town,” Mia Gladstone on “Charlene,” and, one of his personal heroes, Juicy J in “Buttered Up.”
“I got to do a track with one of my idols,” Gravy addressed the audience, referring to Juicy. As a tribute, he played 2011’s classic “Slob On My Knob” by Three 6 Mafia, a Tennessee hip hop group that Juicy belongs to. Gravy also played “Water” by Ugly God, another inspiration to him.
Reaching into some “O.G. O.G. Gravy,” as he put it, Mr. Clean also performed Thanksgiving’s Eve cut, “Karen, Pt.2.”
Besides putting on an energetic and crowd-pleasing performance, Gravy showed he truly cared about his fans, by handing out waters to the sweltering dance floor and, thinking of the ladies, reminding his male fans to keep their hands to themselves. I’ve never seen Bogart’s so packed, on a Tuesday no less, and Gravy well deserved the enthusiastic crown he drew.
Yung Gravy’s Sensational will soon be followed-up by a collaborated project with bbno$, which, he revealed in an interview with CincyMusic, will be released later this year.
