2021 was a weird year. While I was VERY excited to attend live shows again, the pandemic was (is) very much still in affect - so I treaded lightly. Instead of going to a ton of shows in which I had done in years past, I picked the ones that meant the most to me.
The Black Crowes
This was the first large show that I had seen since Summer of 2018. While this may not be a big deal to most, it was a huge deal for for me. Plus, I adore The Black Crowes. I'm still waiting to hear back on that application I submitted to be the bartender for their next tour.
The Avett Brothers
My first show at one of our TWO(!) new venues - PromoWest Pavilion at Ovation. I have seen Avett too many times to count, but this one hit differently.
Dave Matthews Band
Ok...stop judging. DMB is AMAZING live. And when you catch you them in their zone at a show, you know. We all knew at Riverbend this year. It was Epic.
WALK THE MOON
Who doesn't love WALK THE MOON? Always a show full of energy and good people. I always make a new friend at a WTM show.
Counting Crows
Always a show where it is normal to cry in public. Well... I do this at most shows - but I meant for the rest of you.
This year, I was honored to book the Wine Wednesday and Spring Music Series at Fountain Square for 3CDC. Not to pat myself on the back or anything - but it was full of heavy hitters like Tracy Walker, Hillary Hahn, Knotts, Matt Waters, Erin Coburn, PHYSCO, Jess Lamb, Noah Smith, MADQUEEN, Sundae Drives and SO many more!
Also, Fifth & Vine LIVE returned to Fountain Square! CincyMusic and Nederlander Entertainment partnered up to book the series. It went over gangbusters! I got to book a bunch of my favorite local bands and got a little help from my friends when we had a few last minute cancellations (Thank you Wonky Tonk and Jeremy Pinnell)!
While 2021 was a weird year, it was also pretty great. CHEERS to 2021 and the beginning of 2022!
