Cincinnati progressive punk trio Heist are set to release their debut self-titled EP at esteemed “break out” venue MOTR Pub on Friday March 18, 2022!

With lighting support from Digital Castaway (visuals for Deadmau5, Black Signal, The Shivers), Heist will deliver an incendiary, immersive performance of heavy music and visuals. Locally beloved indie band Blood Chill joins Heist alongside the thrashing funk of Sweet Action.

Since first playing last summer, Heist has quickly become one of Cincinnati’s most exciting emergent bands. The guitar fireworks of Michael Ragan (formerly of Dynamite Thunderpunch) are backed by the stampeding rhythm section of Michael Clouse (drums) and Previn (bass, mononymous), who draw on their design and film experience to create the band’s visual output. Their punk-influenced lyrics confront the inequality of a burning planet, systematic oppression, and reckoning with trauma. The finale of the EP, Meteor Mouth, concludes with a heavy power fantasy imagining the ritual sacrifice of local nazis and abusers.

"The Evergreen music video was shot with macro lenses and inspired by giallo horror films, quickly cutting between close-up shots of the human body to provoke discomfort in the audience before transitioning to kaleidoscopic psychedelia. The lyrics are directed toward those who naively believe that they will be insulated from the harm of their self-destructive actions, ignoring the reality that we are all connected and no one will be immune from the consequences." - Michael Clouse
