Pop Punk is alive and well in the Tri-State Area. Don’t believe me? I think this weekend might change your mind.

Newly signed to We’re Trying Records (out of Austin, TX), Cincinnati trio Scarlet Street are set to release their debut self-titled LP on vinyl, cassette, and online this Friday, February 24. Over the course of its energetic 10 tracks, the band distills the best of late 90’s/early 00’s pop-punk, emo, and indie into a charismatic, thematically dense mix that’s something fully realized and very much its own thing.

These past few months have seen the band release multiple singles, whetting the appetite of new and old fans as they neared the album finally existing in the real world. And now, we’re just a few short days away. Full of easily sing-a-long-able lyrics, danceable music, and just the right amount of brash “We’ve got this”-ness, it’s an exciting indication of a band that’s figured out where it wants to live in this odd Cincinnati music ecosystem, and where it wants to go outside of it. I’m genuinely excited to see where this band goes next.

To celebrate the album’s release, the band has tapped good friends Mascots, Old Pictures/New Pictures, and As It May to share the stage with them at The Southgate House Revival on Saturday, February 25.
