Hailing from Cincinnati but boasting a sound that evokes both American coasts, Sun Delay is a four-piece with a rambunctious and jangly sound. The band’s retro aesthetic allows for the complex beats provided by drummer Cole DeRose to support Lamont Nelm and Andrew Kubiak’s sun-tinged guitar licks while leaving room for driving hooks and catchy choruses. Kubiak and bassist Sam Krimmer share vocal duties, alternating between the confident snarls of garage and the optimism of shimmering 1990s and early 2000s pop-rock. The young quartet will be releasing singles in anticipation of a debut EP later in 2019.
