As Metallica’s upcoming show at U.S. Bank Arena is rapidly approaching us, I thought it would be fitting to put together a playlist for the concert.

2019 is going to be a great year for Metalheads in Cincinnati. Ozzy Osbourne, Kiss, and Iron Maiden have already announced tours that will each make a stop in the Queen City. To start the year off, Heavy Metal heavy weights, Metallica are playing U.S. Bank Arena on Wednesday, January 30th.

Judas Priest brought plenty of ​Firepower​ to Riverbend on Tuesday night. Cincinnati was fortunate enough to be the first stop on Priest’s co-headlining tour with old school rockers Deep Purple.

Music lovers across from several genres showed up at Riverbend last evening to experience the groovy tunes of prog/funk/alt/rock giants, Primus. The crowd gathered in anticipation for the show to start and as the lights dropped, Danny Elfman’s clown theme from Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure began to play pumping the crowd even further. Soon the familiar opening notes of Too Many Puppies began and the crowd roared. 

Big concerts have a lot of moving parts and something is always moving. After a little rescheduling, I was able to sit down and chat with Anthrax’s bassist, Frank Bello before his next sold out show. Already on day 6 of back to back shows, Frank was nothing but charm and smiles as he talked about Slayer’s retirement and the possibility of future Big Four shows. 

January 23, 2018 will always and forever be a date that I will remember. On this date, one the world’s greatest metal bands announced to the world that they were going on one final world tour.

Ghost haunted the Taft Theatre Friday night, performing over 20 songs to a sold out and rabid crowd. “New” frontman Cardinal Copia brings a new level of energy to a group that is arguably already on the top of their game.

Metal F’N Saturday takes place this coming Saturday April 28th. The party kicks off at 12pm and carries on until 6pm. As the name implies, this event celebrates the hard and the heavy side of rock n roll with some awesome local metal and punk bands.
